With state-of-the-art factories in Johannesburg and Cape Town, we manufacture high-quality kitchen components using modern, continuously upgraded technology to ensure exceptional value and workmanship. Our Easylife Kitchens Brackenfell showroom is franchisee-owned, and as such, requirements and remuneration may differ slightly from other locations. We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Design Consultant to join our growing team. This role is ideally suited to an aspiring designer who is eager to build experience within a fast-paced, design-led showroom environment, and who is passionate about kitchens, interiors, and customer service.

About the role This is a junior-level design position focused on supporting the showroom’s design and sales team. You will assist with kitchen designs, client interactions, quoting, and project administration while developing your technical, design, and industry knowledge under guidance from senior consultants. Skills, experience and training required

• Grade 12 (essential)
• Strong computer literacy
• Basic understanding or interest in kitchen design, interiors, or related fields
• 0–2 years’ experience in design, sales support, interiors, or a related environment
• Willingness to learn industry software, products, and processes
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport (essential)

  The following will strengthen your application:

• Qualification or studies in Interior Design, Draughting, or a related field
• Exposure to Winner design software (basic level)
• Strong attention to detail and an eye for design
• Good organisational and administrative skills
• Interest in the kitchen, cabinetry, or manufacturing industry

  Key responsibilities

• Conducting thorough client needs analyses, including lifestyle, budget, and design preferences
• Advising clients on appropriate project investment relative to property value
• Design development, presentation, and finalisation with clients
• Full management of customer quotes, contracts, payments, and orders
• Achieving showroom sales targets, margin requirements, and personal strike rates
• End-to-end project management from sale through to installation and completion
• Stakeholder management and clear communication throughout the entire project lifecycle
• Managing client expectations and providing regular progress feedback
• Proactively resolving any issues that arise during project execution
• Keeping up to date with the latest kitchen technology, materials, and industry trends
• Ensuring overall quality of service delivery across all projects
• Any additional duties required by the franchisee

 

Remuneration and growth This position offers a market-related basic salary with clear growth potential. As skills, experience, and performance develop, there is scope to progress into a full Design Consultant role with commission and performance-based incentives.
